Updated to v1.09 - Small Enhancements and Fixes


Today's patch fixes a small assortment of items that I've identified or received feedback on over the past few months.

  • Added a game over screen when defeated in combat and a simple ending screen after completing the game.  This should make the return to the main menu feel less abrupt.  If you've already beaten the game, you're not missing anything new.
  • Fixed movement commands bleeding over from menus if the navigation key was held down when the menu closed.  This could cause e.g. immediately moving back into an encounter after fleeing from it.
  • Saving and loading are now much more fault-tolerant.  In addition, overwriting a save file stores a backup of the overwritten file.  These changes should greatly reduce the risk of damage to saved games in case of write failures.  Backups are stored in the standard save location (see manual).  A maximum of one backup per save slot is stored at a time.
  • Save menu now correctly displays an error message if saving fails.
  • Inactive enemies are now properly removed from the scene after combat.
  • Fixed analog sticks scrolling left and right way too quickly in menus.
  • Fixed the dryad statue symbol disappearing when entering its tile.
